Citizens are protesting against overbilling of K-Electric, Muhammad Yameen Regional Office of Federal Ombudsman is providing justice to the people on their doorsteps, Advisor to Federal Ombudsman

Karachi, August 04, 2016 (PPI-OT): Citizens are protesting against overbilling of K-Electric, Regional Office of Federal Ombudsman is providing justice to the people on their doorsteps, these were expressed by Advisor to Federal Ombudsman during the hearing of applications from people against K-Electric at Deputy Commissioner Malir and #39;s Camp Office. He said that Ombudsman courts are founded on district level for providing free justice to the people where provision of free justice to the citizens is continue. Advisor Muhammad Yameen said more that citizens can contact to these courts against K-Electric including any authority for getting the justice, where there is neither need of any lawyer nor any fee. Applicant Bashir Ahmed told the Ombudsman Court that he lives with his family consisting of 3 persons in a house having single room, where only one fan is being used but K-Electric sent the bill amounting 42,000/-, he requested to the court to do a survey so that court could aware of the facts, upon which the court ordered to make a fresh survey in presence of the residents of the said house.

Applicant Nasreen Naz told the court that her sister lives in Dadu but K-Electric still regularly sends the bill even with excess billing to her locked house, I request to do justice with me, senior officer of K-Electric told the court that only one bill is paid after installing the meter at the said house, if no one live in said house, then it and #39;s gas bill should be zero which show us, K-electric would take back the bill. Upon which the court ordered to pay the bill if the meter is being used. Applicant Asim Mehmood told that he had purchased the house 4 years ago but commercial bill is being sent to him, please upend this exploitation and provide me justice.

Upon which Ombudsman court ordered to K-Electric for investigating the matter and providing the justice to the consumer. Applicant Farhana Yasmin told that meter of her house had been changed 8 months ago but in spite of this I am hunt by overbilling. Ombudsman court not only upends the overbilling but also ordered to pay the remaining amount in 4 instalments. Applicant Afshan Naz made a complaint about overbilling, then K-Electric blamed her of stealing the electricity, but applicant made a explanation upon which the court upended the over billing and ordered to pay remaining amount in 6 instalments. Advisor Muhammad Yameen issued the same kind of orders on other applications against overbilling and provided quick justice to the poor citizens. In this way, applicants came back to their homes praying for Federal Ombudsman.
