Chief Secretary Sindh calls report for mobile towers installed in Province within a week

Karachi, October 09, 2018 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah has asked the Secretary Local Government to collect comprehensive data from the various agencies regarding the mobile towers installed, throughout the Sindh Province, within a week. He was presiding a meeting in his office, on the orders of Honourable Sindh High Court, to have the input of all stake holders keeping in view the prevailing laws, rules, regulations and decision of the Supreme Courts, including the subject recommendation, with a view to formulate some policy guidelines so that, controversy might be eradicated.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) Cantonment Board, NTC (National Telecommunication Corporation) and the Provincial Secretaries of Cooperative, Local Government, DG Sindh Katchi Abadies Department, DG SBCA, MD Sindh Environmental Protection Agency and other senior officers.

Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, requiring the comprehensive report of Mobile Towers installed in Sindh, asked the Secretary L.G. to submit the numbers of installed towers pertained to the jurisdiction of SBCA, Katchi Abadies, with frequency, including status of towers, installed within the Cantonment areas. He stressed the need of maintain the Environmental Protection to this effect.
