Islamabad, April 13, 2021 (PPI-OT): The Federal Cabinet has approved deployment of Rangers in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Jehlum and Bahawalpur to maintain law and order situation. Briefing media in Islamabad this evening, Minister for Science and technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said the cabinet, which met in Islamabad today with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair, also approved establishment of a registration authority to get geographical indicator tags for Pakistan’s agricultural and non-agricultural products to maintain their Pakistani identity.
He said geographical indicator tag for Pakistani mangoes, precious gems, and other products will be acquired for their protection as Pakistani products in the international market. Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said the cabinet approved establishment of Litigant Facilitation Centre in Islamabad to facilitate litigants and lawyers.
He said Zaireen Management policy and reduction in student’s visa fee were also approved. Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said now the overseas Pakistanis can get succession certificates from respective Pakistani embassies in foreign countries. He said the cabinet was briefed that Central Business District will be completed in 18 months on over 300 acres of land in Lahore to boost economic activities in the country. The Minister said proceedings of the cabinet will be made paperless from next week which will save millions of rupees.
