Atrocities in IIOJK a test case for UN, global community: Speakers

Islamabad, April 28, 2021 (PPI-OT): Speakers at an international Kashmir Parliamentary Conference by Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Haq Khud Aradiat have said that atrocities by Indian occupational forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir are a test case for the United Nations and the international community.

The special guest of the parliamentary conference, held through video link, was Federal Minister Syed Fakhr Imam while the conference was presided over by Raja Najabat Hussain, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Haqe Khud Aradiyat International. International delegates, Hurriyat Conference and human rights leaders attended the conference.

Addressing the conference, Syed Fakhr Imam said that despite the serious situation of coronavirus in India, serious acts of state terrorism and human rights violations continue in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the entire nation of Pakistan is in agreement on the right of Kashmiris to self-determination. He said that Modi tried to stifle the voice of Kashmiris for freedom by taking the initiative on August 5 but Kashmiris proved that no one can take away their spirit.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner in London Moazzam Ahmad Khan, Senator Dr. Zarqa Teymour, Senator Talha Mahmood, Chairperson of All Parties Kashmir Parliamentary Group from UK Debbie Ibrahim, UK Shadow Minister Barrister Yasmeen Qureshi, Co-Chair Conservative Friends of Kashmir Paul Bristow, Shadow Minister Naz Shah, Shadow Minister Khalid Mehmood, Co-Chair Conservative Friends of Kashmir James Daily, Convener Labour Friends of Kashmir Lord Wajid Khan besides Hurriyat leader Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Chairman International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Muhammad from Occupied Kashmir, Ahsan Untoo, President Youth Parliament of Pakistan Obaid-ur-Rehman Qureshi, Chairperson Councilor of Tehreek-e-Haqe Khuda Aradiyat UK Councilor Yasmeen Dar, Chairman of Tehreek-e-Haqe Khud Aradiyat Zeeshan Arif, Naghmana Kanwal Sheikh from Tehreek-e-Haq Khud Aradiat North of England, Khadija Kayani from London, Human Rights Dr. Sadia Khan and others also attended the conference.

The speakers of the conference said that the ongoing atrocities by Indian forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir is a test case for the United Nations and the international community. They urged the international community, including the United Nations to play its role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiris. Raja Najabat Hussain, Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Haq Self-Determination International, briefed the participants on the latest situation in Kashmir.
