APHC-AJK holds anti-India sit-in protest outside UN office in Islamabad 

Islamabad, September 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a sit-in protest outside the United Nations office in Islamabad against the address of Indian Foreign Minister S J Shankar to the UN General Assembly, today, on Saturday.

The sit-in protest was led by APHC-AJK chapter Convener, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar and joined by all members and AJK leaders.

The speakers while addressing the protest opposed the Indian Foreign Minister’s address and said that India is using violent brute force and imposing Hindutva BJP-RSS agendas in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to suppress righteous demand of right to self-determination.

They said that more than one lakh innocent Kashmiris had been martyred and lakhs were injured by the Indian troops and police personnel in the territory during the past thirty 34 years.

leaders said that thousands of Kashmiris including APHC leadership men and women facing illegal detentions under black laws in Indian and IIOJK jails since years 2016 in IIOJK.

They said that in the present worst circumstances in IIOJK, the Indian Foreign Minister had no justification and right to address the UN General Assembly. They added that Kashmir is neither India’s integral part nor is a territorial dispute, rather it is an issue concerning the political future of millions of Kashmiris.

The Hurriyat leaders said the main purpose of the Indian Foreign Minister’ visit to the US is to fool world community divert attention of the world community from the Kashmir dispute and worst situation facing Indian minorities mostly Muslims, Sikhs, Dalits and Christians.

At the end sit-in, the Hurriyat leaders presented a memorandum addressed to the UN Secretary General containing details of human rights violations by Indian troops in IIOJK.
