Aasiya flays demolition drive against Muslim families in Jammu

Srinagar, September 25, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairperson Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Aasiya Andrabi while taking strong notice of the demolition of Muslim families’ houses in several areas of Jammu under the garb of anti-encroachment drive has appealed to the world to stop India from taking such discriminatory measures in the territory.

Aasiya Andrabi in a statement issued in Srinagar stressed the immediate need to mobilize the international community against anti-Muslim measures being taken by Indian government. She said the main motive of the so-called anti-encroachment drive is to change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir by dismantling the houses of Muslim families and settling the non-state subjects in these areas.

She said the Muslim families of these areas have been living there legally for the past several decades. She also questioned why only Muslim-majority areas were being targeted. Aasiya Andrabi appealed to the pro-freedom leadership to devise a strategy to counter such sinister plans of RSS-backed PDP-BJP administration in Jammu and Kashmir.
