Interest free loans approved for meritorious students under Student Loan Scheme
Karachi, August 20, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Apex Committee for Student Loan Scheme having representation from State Bank of Pakistan, Finance Division (Government of Pakistan) and five major banks (NBP, HBL, UBL, ABL and MCB Bank) has approved Rs 82.6 million as interest-free loans to deserving students for their studies within Pakistan. FBR issues clarification on access to Banking Transaction
Islamabad, August 20, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a clarification on the messages circulating in emails and social media regarding access of FBR on banking transactions. FBR has clarified that there is no linkage or access to banking transactions at any level with the banks or financial institutions. Similarly, there is no fingerprint authentication mechanism available with FBR. The tax profile data of FBR has only offline bank account numbers which are not linked with banks or financial institutions.
