Sindh Cabinet urges NAB to remit Rs1.59 billion recovered under VR scheme

Karachi, August 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):The Sindh Cabinet has urged National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to remit Rs1.59 billion to Sindh government which it had deducted at source 25 percent of the total recovery it had made through Voluntary Return scheme during the last 11 years. This emerged in the meeting held under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah here at the CM House on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by chief secretary Mumtaz Shah, all provincial ministers, advisors to CM, special assistants and concerned secretaries. COVID-19 claims 40 more patients, infects 2,174 others

Karachi, August 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as 40 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 6,275 and 2,174 new cases emerged when 26,891 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Tuesday. He added that 40 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 6,275 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate. Mr. Shah said that 26,891 samples were tested which detected 2,174 cases that constituted 8 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 5,189,244 tests have been conducted

Inauguration of Pakistan’s First Ship Lift and Transfer System at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works Limited

Karachi, August 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):A 7300-ton capacity Ship Lift and Transfer System was inaugurated on 10th August, 2021, at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KS and EW). Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Imran Khan graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi was also present at the occasion. The contract of the Ship Lift and Transfer System was signed under the auspices of Ministry of Defense Production with the funding provided by Planning Commission of Pakistan, as a PSDP project. Workers’ Remittances in July 2021

Karachi, August 10, 2021 (PPI-OT):With inflows of $2.71 billion in July 2021, workers' remittances continued their strong trend, remaining above $2.0 billion for the 14th consecutive month. This is the second-highest ever level of remittances reported in the month of July. In terms of growth, remittances increased by 0.7 percent over previous month and showed a decline by 2.1 percent over the same month last year. This marginal y/y decline was largely on account of Eid-ul-Adha, which resulted in fewer working days this July compared to last year. NAB committed to nab big fish and logical conclusion of mega corruption cases
