COVID-19 claims 28 more patients, infects 2,315 others 

Karachi, August 05, 2021 (PPI-OT):As many as 28 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 6,126 and 2,315 new cases emerged when 16,953 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Thursday. He added that 28 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 6,126 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate. Mr. Shah said that 16,953 samples were tested which detected 2,315 cases that constituted 13.7 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 5,098,056 tests have been conducted

Naval Chief conferred with UAE’s Highest Military Award 

Islamabad, August 05, 2021 (PPI-OT):Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi has been conferred with the highest Military Medal of the United Arab Emirates, during an impressive award ceremony held at UAE Embassy in Islamabad. Pakistan Navy Ship ZULFIQUAR visits Germany during Overseas Deployment

State Bank of Pakistan Notifies Changes in Foreign Exchange Manual to Promote Ease of Doing Business

Karachi, August 05, 2021 (PPI-OT):State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has notified revision of foreign exchange instructions pertaining to commercial remittances with the objective of promoting ease of doing business and facilitating legitimate cross border commercial payments on account of services. The significant changes made in the chapter 14 of the Foreign Exchange Manual pertain to following policies: Remittance of Royalty, Franchise and Technical (RFT) Fees for Manufacturing Sector: SBP has revised the policy on remittance of RFT fees. Banks have been delegated the authority to register the agreements of parties and to allow remittances of RFT fees under revised policy.
