Pakistan Hockey Federation plans to celebrate Independence Day with activities across Pakistan

Karachi, August 02, 2017 (PPI-OT):To celebrate country’s 70th Anniversary of Independence in a befitting manner, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has directed the provincial hockey associations to hold hockey activities throughout the country. PHF has sought collaboration of the provincial sports boards to organize sports events across the country.

An exhibition match between Pakistan Junior Greens and Pakistan Junior Whites at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore on August 13 will be played under the floodlights. Another match between Pakistan Veterans XI and the Media XI has also been scheduled on the same evening. PHF has sent invitations to former stalwarts for the match. Sports Board Punjab is making the arrangements to help PHF hold these two high profile exhibition matches at the National Hockey Stadium.

PHF’s director domestic and development, Naveed Alam has asked the provincial associations to organise hockey events in all the units and areas. Events and matches can be held for any age category. Along with the hockey matches, other fun related activities would also be a part of the celebrations to attract families. The events related to Pakistan’s national game will continue till the end of this month to commemorate Independence Day.
