Gilani flays Indian media’s anti-Kashmir propaganda

Srinagar, June 30, 2017 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has strongly condemned the malicious propaganda campaign launched by a section of Indian media against Kashmir and the Kashmiri people.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that this media was acting as a mouthpiece of fascist and fanatic forces and was involved in what could be termed as media terrorism against the Kashmiris.

Describing Indian channel, “Republic TV”, “Times Now”, “The News”, “Aaj Tak”, “India Today” and “India TV” as fish markets, he said that decent people would not like to watch these channel. He said, “We don’t have any hostility with Indian people or any animosity with their faith, however, we expect that on humanitarian grounds people in India would like to support our cause and right to self-determination.” They are not following any ethics and have crossed all limits, he added.

Referring to false propaganda televised on these channels, Syed Ali Gilani said that they were following the Goebbels doctrine and added that to defame and disgrace freedom movement, the media centres were telecasting concocted and fake stories.

Terming it media terror, he said these anchors are not doing any justice with their profession. India is emerging as a fascist country and its biased media is playing a main role for its distorted projection.

He urged Indian people that instead of relying on these channels and their venomous propaganda, they should try to understand the Kashmir dispute in its right context and help resolve it to make an end to human tragedies. “Instead of trusting in the poisonous propaganda being played by TV channels, try to understand the Kashmir issue”, he said while appealing intellectuals and sensible people in India.

“It is quite heartening, and very unfortunate to label us as terrorists or use derogatory remarks. It is not a good precedence and such behaviour will bring bad name for people of India too,” the APHC Chairman said. People in Kashmir are true to their commitment and it is not a crime to pursue right to self-determination, he maintained.
