Use of brutal force on KU students denounced

Srinagar, June 26, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leader, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, the High Court Bar Association of the territory and the Jamat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir have strongly condemned the use of brutal force on Kashmir University students and suspending class work in the varsity. Nayeem Ahmad Khan in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the highest educational institution of Kashmir had been facing at the hands of successive so- called regimes on the behest of New Delhi never allowed student activism resulting in suppression among them.

Expressing concern over the arrest of Muzamil Farooq, he demanded his immediate release. He said that university administration was duty bound to use its influence for the immediate release of Muzamil Farooq. The High Court Bar Association of the territory in a statement denounced the use of brute force on Kashmir university students who were protesting against the illegal and unlawful arrest and detention of their fellow student, Muzamil Dar.

The Bar Association also condemns the act of Vice Chancellor, Professor Khurshid who permitted the university police to fire gunshots and did not stop them from beating the girl students with batons and termed it the worst kind of state terrorism. The Jama’at-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir in a statement in Srinagar has termed the detention of Muzamil Dar, a student of the English Department in Kashmir University, a most condemnable act and demanded his immediate release.

The statement said that the student being a Muslim had peacefully protested against conducting “Yoga Day” in the campus along with his other fellow students. It said that majority of population in Kashmir was Muslim and there was no place for holding “Yoga Day”.
