Karachi, April 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): KMC Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan has said that city wardens have been serving citizens for five years and along with controlling traffic they perform responsibilities on other social events as well. All possible measures will be taken for their security. He said this on the occasion of a condolence meeting held under KDA Labor Union Division in memory of city wardens who were murdered last night. Sr. Director Municipal Services
Dr. Shaukat Zaman, Sr. Director Local Taxes Masood Alam, Sr. Director E and IP Farhan Durrani, Sr. Director HRM Shoaib Waqar, Chief City Warden Tehseen- ur-Rehman, Deputy Chief City Warden Mairaj, KMC officers, members of KMC Unit Labor Division and city wardens were also present on the occasion.
He said that these city wardens serving citizens have sacrificed their lives. He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to bereaved families to bear the loss with fortitude.
He also said that Administrator Karachi Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi has announced 5 Lac cheque for each family of martyrs and 2 Lac for injured city warden which will be paid to them today. KMC Labor Division officials and colleagues of city wardens also expressed sorrow and paid homage to the martyrs.
