Islamabad: Foreign Minister of Iran H.E Dr. Ali Akbar Salehi called on the Foreign Minister of Pakistan on February 16, 2012. The meeting took place ahead of the Trilateral Summit Meeting.
The two sides noted that the bilateral trade and economic linkages were far below the potential and underscored the importance of quickening up the processes of the projects undertaken by the two countries including those in gas, electricity, rail and road.
Both sides also emphasized upon the importance of the trilateral mechanism between Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan to coordinate political and economic coordination.
The two sides will meet again with Afghanistan in a trilateral format tomorrow.
