Karachi, December 04, 2017 (PPI-OT):To honour Dr. Ruth Pfau, Founder member of MALC for her dedicated services of over 55 years rendered for Leprosy Control in Pakistan, a Commemorative Stamp of worth Rs. 8 issued by Pakistan Post Office on the directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was displayed and released for public today at a Ceremony held today at MALC, Karachi. The stamp is designed by Mr. Mughiz Khan and printed by National Security Printing Press Karachi.
The ceremony was attended by His Grace Archbishop Joseph Coutts, Ex-Officio President Board of Governors MALC, His Excellency Mr. Rainer Schmeidchen, Consul General, Federal Republic of Germany and Mr. Mervyn Lobo, Chief Executive Officer MALC along with MALC Board members and staff.
His Excellency Mr. Rainer Schmeidchen- Consul General of Germany paid rich tributes to the services rendered by Dr. Ruth Pfau. He termed it a big honour for all of us. He emphasized to take forward Dr. Ruth Pfau leprosy control program project in future. He also assured full support in the project of leprosy control program.
Mr. Mervyn Lobo-CEO MALC, speaking on the occasion not only thanked the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Mr. Muhammad Shakoor, Director (Inland Mail), Pakistan Post, Islamabad for giving a befitting tribute to the selfless services of Dr. Ruth Pfau for the country but also stressed that the work which she has started is still going on with the same zeal. His Grace Archbishop – Joseph Coutts also shared his views on the occasion.
