Historic step of Punjab Government on happy occasion of 12 Rabi-Ul-Awwal

Lahore, November 30, 2017 (PPI-OT):On the special direction of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal will be celebrated with full religious fervour and zeal in the Punjab Jails on December 1st, today. In line with the directions, the Jail buildings will be eliminated across the province. The speech, naat and Holy Quran recitation will be held in the jails to be attended by Superintendents, DIG and IG jail Punjab. Ministers, MNAs, MPAs and notable of the area will also be invited. During the ceremonies special prayers will be offered for the country and sweetmeat will be distributed among the inmates.

The Punjab government have also arranged special food for the prisoners on the happy occasion of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal. Halwa, Sweet Zarda, Chicken Biryani, Chicken Qurma, vermicelli and Kashmri tea will be prepared and the prisoners and jail staff will jointly celebrate this happy occasion. On the happy occasion of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, a special remission of 2 months (60 days) has also been announced for the prisoners and which will benefit thousands of prisoners. Moreover, due to the efforts of the Punjab government around 50 prisoners are being released from jails after the payment of Rs. 7500000 over confined in jail due to qisas, diyyat, arsh daman and fines.
