Karachi, November 01, 2017 (PPI-OT):Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said Unity is one of the pillars of state in Russia as well as in Pakistan as it was declared by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah: “Unity, Faith, Discipline”. This he said while addressing the gathering held at Russian Consulate to celebrate Unity Day of Russian Federation.
He said that first of all He would like to congratulate Russia, the people of the Great Nation of Russia and the dynamic Russian leadership on their National Unity Day. Murad Ali Shah said Every year on November 4, the Russia’s Federation marks National Unity Day. Unity Day commemorates a Russian popular uprising that freed Moscow from Polish-Lithuanian occupation forces on November 4, 1612.
He said that the day’s name alludes to the idea that all the classes of Russian society are united in their objective to preserve Russian statehood when there was neither a tsar nor a patriarch to guide them. Turning the pages of history, the chief minister said this day was celebrated in the Russian Empire until 1917, when it was replaced with a commemoration of the Russian Revolution. Unity Day was reinstituted by the Russian Federation in 2005.
He said the Unity Day calls for tolerance between the various ethnic and religious groups in the Russian Federation. “I am told there are more than 185 different nationalities living peacefully in the Russian Federation. This is indeed a unique achievement for any country,” he said.
Murad Ali Shah said that history shows that Russian nation stayed united in times of trouble, whether it was the 1612 Liberation War or the 1812 of Napoleonic Invasion or the dark and terrible days of World War Two in which Russia was invaded by fascist forces and sacrificed 20 million of her sons and daughters for the sake of freedom.
The chief minister said that the love for the Motherland is what unites Russians nowadays as before. “Love for the country, for home and family-these are things that remain important and altogether comprise the notion of what is popularly known as the Motherland,” he said and added “I am sure that Russia under the able statesmanship and guidance of President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will attain further goals of peace and prosperity.”
Murad Ali Shah said “Unity is one of the pillars of state in Russia as well as in Pakistan as it was declared by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah: “Unity, Faith, Discipline”. He said that there is much in common between the two countries that can become the basis of long-term mutual cooperation. “I on behalf of Sindh and its government would like to assure the Russian government and people that it will find in Sindh, an able and reliable partner in any joint venture,” he concluded.
