New Delhi, October 01, 2017 (PPI-OT): Instead of recommending the UN-advised method that calls for plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir to settle the dispute, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is still stuck to the stereotype demand of changes in constitutional provisions to “completely assimilate” the territory with India.
In his over an hour-long Vijayadashmi speech at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said necessary constitutional amendments would have to be made and old provisions changed in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Only when the constitutional amendments are done, the residents of Jammu and Kashmir can be completely assimilated with India,” Bhagwat said, apparently referring to Article 370 of the Constitution, which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, reacting to RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s demand of making constitutional amendments for abrogating Article 370 and other related provisions, Awami Ittehad Party Chief Er Rasheed said there is nothing new in what Bhagwat has stated but the demand of demolishing Article 370 is itself an evidence that RSS and likeminded organizations don’t have faith in Indian constitution.
On the other hand, RSS activists took out a march at Bhaderwah in Doda district of Jammu region to press for removal of Article 35A. The march was taken out in the name of ‘path-sanchalan’ rally. Marching through the whole town, the RSS activists passed through Ganpath Bazar, Seri Bazar, Mandir Bazar, Bus stand, Jai Road, Vaskdhera Mohalla, Khakhal Mohalla. The march was concluded at Geeta Bhawan.
While speaking on the occasion RSS Seh Prant Pracharak Rupesh Kumar said that RSS had always been at the fore front for the “national cause” and the aim of establishing Bharat as Vishwa Guru was not a distant dream.
