Karachi, September 05, 2017 (PPI-OT):Upon the directions of Chief Minister, Sindh, a quick-action task force has been formulated by the Deputy Commissioner, Karachi Central Capt Farid in order to tackle the post rain water accumulation, clearance of dirt and sludge as well as any remnants of offals following Eid ul Azha. This is a three-day drive aimed at clearing the entire district in the aftermath of the recent heavy downpour.
In this exercise, All Assistant Commissioners / Mukhtiarkars are heading the teams constituted in their areas. Deputy Commissioner Central has adopted a multi-pronged strategy for this campaign. DC Central Farid Mustafa told that the exercise is meant to clear main roads, internal arteries as well as low lying areas from the effects of rain. For this purpose, 25 tractor blades (5 for each subdivision), 20 dumpers and 250 manual labour has been privately hired.
The aim is to provide relief to common citizen. Our correspondent further observed that on the first day of campaign a full-fledged activity was witnessed in District Central. After a long time sweeping activity of this scale was observed on main roads whereas low-lying areas were also being covered by providing machinery on demand basis. Such activities if made a permanent feature can bring positive change in Karachi.
