Pellets injure many including one in eye in IOK

Srinagar, September 03, 2017 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, several people were injured including one in eye during clashes between protesters and police in central, south and north Kashmir. Youth resorted to sloganeering and stone pelting immediately after Eid prayers. Police used force and fired teargas shells to disperse the protesters.

The youth held protest demonstrations in Srinagar a nd Achajipora and Janglat Mandi areas of Islamabad district. At some places in Islamabad, the clashes broke out between worshipers and the police when the sermons were going on in the mosques. Many people received pellet injuries including one in the eye in the district. He was immediately rushed to Srinagar hospital for treatment. Protests also broke out in Sopore Jamia Masjid after the Eid sermon was over.

Meanwhile, the authorities did not allow Syed Ali Gilani to offer the seventh consecutive Eid on Saturday. Restricted to his home and under house arrest, Gilani is also not attending Friday prayers as well.
