Islamabad (IINA) Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain administered Friday the oath of office to the new Federal Cabinet that would run affairs of the country under the newly elected Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
Following two days of meetings with Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the former prime minister, in the town of Murree, the new 43-member Cabinet comprising 27 federal ministers and 16 ministers of state were sworn in at the Aiwan-e-Sadr at an impressive ceremony.
The event that began with the playing of the national anthem was followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur'an in the mainly Muslim nation of 190 million people.
The formation of a new cabinet followed Nawaz Sharif's resignation last week after the Supreme Court disqualified him for not declaring a source of income he denies receiving.
