Karachi, May 18, 2017 (PPI-OT): Welcoming the delegation of businessmen from Syria and the delegation from Pakistan, the Ambassador of Pakistan briefed about the sectoral profile of the Pakistani delegation and stressed upon building the trade relationship between Pakistan and Syria.
H.E Mr. Athar Hussain Bukhari, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Syria especially thanked Senator Muhammad Hamshou, Vice Secretary of the Syrian Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and stated that Lebanon and Syria have geographical proximity and therefore there is a need to build up the trade and Commercial relationship between the two countries.
Senator Hamshou stated that the Syrian market presents great opportunities for businessmen from Pakistan. Since the requirements for the Syrian market is quite large, therefore for whatever sectors are present in the businessmen delegation from Pakistan at this point in time, the Syrian businessmen can meet them and for the other who are not present, the Syrian Federation of Businessmen can inform the same to their businessmen and hope that the business leads can follow from there on. He thanked the Ambassador of Pakistan to Syria as well as the Ambassador of Pakistan to Lebanon for inviting the businessmen to visit the Pakistan trade delegation visiting Lebanon.
The Secretary TDAP stated that this is the first ever delegation from Pakistan, and is the ice breaker in terms of business development for both sides. He assured the Syrian businessmen that the TDAP would seriously consider the sending of the trade delegation focusing on the rebuilding and construction sector in Syria.
The Secretary TDAP invited the businessmen from Syria to come and visit the EXPO Pakistan 2017 and see what Pakistan has to offer to the Syrian businessmen in the reconstruction sector as well as Pakistan’s total export collage. In the end, the Secretary TDAP thanked the Ambassador of Pakistan to Syria for arranging the visit of the Syrian delegation to Beirut and inviting them to visit and meet the Pakistani businessmen delegation.
The Vice President of the FPCCI gave a briefing to the participants of the meeting about the FPCCI and Pakistan’s export profile. He expressed his gratitude to Senator Hamshou and the Ambassadors of Pakistan to Syria and Lebanon and the Secretary TDAP for arranging this meeting. He also expressed the hope that the businessmen would hopefully take advantage of this opportunity and build up on the trade relationships between the two brotherly countries.
