Punjab Chief Minister visits residence of 13 years old victim boy Irfan

Lahore, May 11, 2017 (PPI-OT) Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited the residence of 13 year old victim boy namely Irfan in Macharwali Village in Nankana Sahib today. The Chief Minister met with Irfan, whose hand was chopped off after torture, his parents and other family members. He inquired about the details of the incident from the victim boy and other family members.

While talking to Irfan and his family members, the Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that he has come here to share the pain and grief of the victim family. He told them that a high-level committee has been constituted comprising of honest officers of impeccable record to investigate the matter. He assured that that the matter would be investigated upon in a very transparent and impartial manner; and added that the accused would be brought to justice at every cost.

The Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the aggrieved family and said that anybody found involved in this horrendous incident would not go scot-free. No one could save the gruesome person, responsible for chopping off the hand, from the clutches of law.

While talking to the family members, the Chief Minister said that prosthetic hand would be arranged for 13 year old Iran, and assured that justice would be done at every cost. The educational expenses of the children of aggrieved family would be borne out by the Punjab government and free medical facilities will also be provided to the aggrieved family.

While constituting a high-level inquiry committee to investigate the shocking incident, the Chief Minister told that Chairman, Chief Minister’s Inspection Team and RPO Sargodha will be the members of the committee. The Chief Minister directed the committee members to immediately reach to the site of the incident, and said that inquiry committee members will remain in the area till the completion of the investigation. The Chief Minister assured to the aggrieved family that he will personally supervise the investigation. Insha’Allah, justice would be done and all formalities of the justice would be fulfilled. He said that he will not allow any worldly power to hinder the pace of justice.

The Chief Minister expressed his utmost displeasure over the delay in the registration of FIR and inquired that when the mother of 13 year old Irfan reached to the police station on 7th then why the FIR was lodged on 8th? The one day delay in the registration of the case is regrettable and the police officers will have to answer this question.

He said that why the police officers did not realize the mother of victim Irfan has reached to the police station after travelling 10 kilometres? The Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the victim boy and his father; presented a cheque of financial assistance to them, and said that all-out cooperation and support would be provided for taking care of the victim boy. The Punjab government will arrange prosthetic hand for Irfan, he added.

Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif also announced free medical treatment of ailing paternal grandfather of 13 year victim Irfan, and said that the Punjab government will bear all expenditures of the treatment of the grandfather of Irfan. The victim family will also be provided free medical treatment facilities. After his arrival to the residence of victim Irfan in suburban village of Nankana Sahib today, the Chief Minister hugged the ailing grandfather and sympathized with him. It may be added here that 13 year old boy Irfan was tortured and his one hand was also amputated in an area of Sheikhupura, few days earlier.
