LPGAP demands withdrawal of OGRA notification for consumer price

Lahore, February 26, 2017 (PPI-OT): LPG Association of Pakistan (LPGAP) has demanded of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority and Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources to withdraw notification that has given consumer price of Rs. 910/- inclusive of all taxes and charges.

In a statement issued here, LPGAP spokesman said that this unrealistic price will close the LPG industry thus putting the consumer to great hardship.

He said that the LPG Association of Pakistan (LPGAP) deeply regrets the announcement made by OGRA without realizing the impact it will have on the consumers and the industry itself. He said that the Ministry for Petroleum & Natural Resources has further aggravated the situation by pressurizing the authority to issue notification without incorporating the interest of the stake holders who deliver LPG to masses.

This uncalled for action by the regulators will not only close the industry but will also bring financial hardship to over five Lakh persons involved in this business.

LPGAP spokesman demanded of the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources and Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority to withdraw this notification immediately and avoid to make such illogical decision without taking stakeholders on board.
